We were surprised and thrilled that we were able to get tickets in the late afternoon for a performance of "Twelfth Night" that same evening. The set was amazing and the play was delightful. Such a nice bonus to our trip. More

Having now seen two productions in the refurbished (actually rebuilt) Royal Shakespeare I think I like it. Whilst the potential for "grand spectacle" productions with very large casts is probably gone, the new theatre with it's deep thrust stage and seating on three sides is a very welcoming space. Sightlines were excellent from the side circle, and the audience is... More

The RSC is deservedly one of the best theatre companies in the world. The productions I have seen there are second to none and always provide a new angle on Shakespeare's plays, even when you think you've seen it all. The new theatre is an impressive piece of architecture but what a shame that the auditoria seats are so small... More

We were late for a show, so popped into the shop for some souvenirs. Nice and not overly commercial. Shame the roof top bar was shut! More

If you've never been to the Swan, then you need to find an excuse to go. This is a three-storey high arrangement, with the top two floors having only two rows of seats. Every play I've ever seen here seems to use these tiers for some of the acting space -- actors stand on the balconies and shout across at... More

The Tempest production was superb. Top-class acting. Great theatre and seats in stalls are very comfortable. Recommend dinner at 5.30 in very close-by Arden Hotel, as there's a real feeling of expectation in the air as everyone lse dining there at that time will be seeing the play too. More
