Great films, nice staff, good food and bar too. I have to point out one small negative, we went on a very freezing December day once and it was really cold inside too, we kept our coats on but we were still really uncomfortable, we mentioned it to the staff on the way out; I don't want to dwell on... Films that you see trailers for but never make the big complexes can usually be found here at some point, but you need to check regularly as not always screen daily and not at the same time as the previous day. Seats are really comfy and you can get a lovely coffee in the main cafe, with great cake or... More

This movie theatre is right in the middle of town. It used to be an old theatre and even though it is completely renewed it still keeps the antique character. They play really unique movies. Cafe is lovely on the top floor and chairs super comfy. More

Loved visiting the Tyneside Cinema! It is a converted theatre and has kept many of the original features, including a balcony and very comfortable red velvet seating. Nice to take drinks inside, bit a little pricey. Also the cashier was very slow, it took over 10 mins to get our tickets - we were the only one's queuing! Website prices... More

The best cinema in Newcastle/the whole NE of England and the only place i'd take friends/GF to see a film. Only downside is not as many films as stereotypical Odeon-type chain megaplex so less choice and availability than what you might be used to More

This is a great cinema showing a great range of arthouse and general release films. The staff are great; it's quirky and we're so lucky in Newcastle to have an independent cinema as so many places are now dependent on the big chains. They have special events like screenings for Mums and babies, silver screen (awful name) for older people... More

Great building , great refurbished, ways a gorgeous main screen (went to see The Artist there...can't think of a better atmospheric environment, leather settee and a decent bottle of wine too - now where on earth do you get that sort of experience?) , good food too and a fantastic little narrow bar on the street to sip your espresso...
