Big queues so get there early. It was £18 for 2 adults and a child. Really well designed light (and some music) displays. Takes about 45 mins to an hour to go round.

The house is fantastic. The Robert Adams rooms are grand and so different. One of the bedrooms featured in 'Gosford Park' . The gardens are pleasant and the conservatory is stunning. To go round the house & gardens was £10. Make sure that there is not a wedding on before you go.

I waited 40 minutes for a toasted sandwich and when I finally tracked it down (going back to the counter to enquire for the second time) it was discovered limp and luke warm in the toaster. Lots of staff but no systems and lacklustre menue.

Syon House is still privately owned and yet open to visitors - it can easily be reached by public transport from central London on the District Line (change at Gunnersbury for the bus to Brent Lea Gate, from there it is only about 200m to the house).

A stunning house with breathtaking gardens and an impressive conservatory. Well worth a visit. Remarkably peaceful and quiet when you consider its London location. Went to a wedding reception here and it was lovely.
