We took the cruise from Liverpool to Salford 16th May 2013 mainly because it was more economical to travel by train to Liverpol and end up at Salford and get home by train than park up at Salford Quays thanks to the exhorbitant parking charges imposed by Peel Holdings with no concessions to those who are paying to travel on... We were really looking forward to this tour on our day trip to Liverpool. Even more so when we saw the QM2 in dock. However when we set off the standard commentary was replaced by a live commentary. Firstly the mic was not working properly and it sounded like Norman collier was doing it. Now we expected a few words... More

The Mersey Ferry is great fun and you can save money with a Saveaway! For those who are not familiar with Saveaway's, these are valid on all trains, buses and the Mersey Ferry in 'Zones' within Merseyside. To travel on the Mersey Ferry you will need an all zones saveaway (costs £4.80 correct Many 2013) HOWEVER you must get off... More

Queuing left something to be desired, especially when those at the back of the queue were brought forward to form another line and then got on first! However, the ferry journey to Seacombe, Birkenhead and back to Liverpool with the Beatles music - "Ferry Across the Mersey" playing throughout made the trip worthwhile. The return fare was also good value.

We actually started off in New Brighton and took the 21/2 mile walk along the Millennium Way to Seacombe to catch the Ferry and enjoyed the 50 minute river cruise stopping after 20 minutes to visit the city for 2 - 3 hours. On catching the ferry again for the return journey we carried on down the Mersey and back... More

As a group of 5 adults we went on the River Cruise. We boarded at Seacombe and got off at Liverpool. After a couple of hours we returned to Seacombe. There is a large car park at Seacombe with an overflow. The bonus is that this car park is free. The booking hall was a couple of minutes walk away.... More
