Too busy, too much like Ikea! I like to browse a market not be route marched around the town like Ikea.
Of all the attractions in the Cathedral quarter we liked this one best. It is a small place and essentially ruins, but it was a sunny day and we enjoyed our wander around, particularly as the audio guide was interesting and pointed out aspects of the architecture and how the rooms would have looked originally.
Called in here on a spectacularly cold April day. The ruins of the palace were well presented and there were indoor rooms as well. The garden terrace had nice views over the city and the grounds of the palace gave differing views of the cathedral.
Visited the Bishops' Palace today as it was free for Heritage Weekend in Lincoln. Really glad I did as it was a lovely little place to go. The audio tour was very good and informative. The views over Lincoln were great too. Not even the rain spoilt it.
We got entry to the Bishop's Palace as part of a Visit Lincoln pass. Entrance to the sites from the Cathedral is via a few steps, we no evident access for wheelchairs or pushchairs. lived in lincoln for 30 years and first time I have visited, during christmas market time, the atmosphere was heavenly and spiritual. Going to look into celebrating my 60th there in May.
