Machines, history, mine, German roots, railway trip. Make sure you've got warm clothing if you go in the mine. A special destination for boys up to the age of 93.

This little museum has a great stock of books as well as the huge array of minerals. It's such a shame that this little gem is about to close
This is really a little gem of a museum where the Owner knows everything and is ever present. A real character worth listening to.
the man who owns it is very informative and extremely enthuiastic. His collection has took 45 years to put together

The gentleman really knew what he was talking about and we stay about 40 miles from one in Scotland and he knew about it also.
Good to see on a rainy day and there are plenty! Interesting to see how slate is obtained & crafted - you can buy almost anything made of slate. A look inside the old days and how things were back then. The pencil making factory is also interesting.
