Quite simply the best gingerbread I've ever tasted, it's a small shop, you can queue at busy times, but Grasmere is one of the nicest places I've ever queued in my life! Drink in the atmosphere of the village, enjoy your gingerbread. Whether you buy a single slice, a pack of 6 or a pack of 12, you'll end up...

I visited this shop as it was featured as one of the things to try before you die in the Daily Mirror- fresh gingerbread from this shop. It is a tiny shop as the gingerbread is baked freshly on the premises. At peak times it gets very busy and is easily queued out of the door but its worth the...

During my stay in Grasmere, one early morning I walked alongside a little house and was attracted by the smell of fresh baking’s...Then I realized this was the Gingerbread Shop. In the afternoon I decided to have a look inside the shop: very small with different offerings. I went for the Sarah Nelson's Original Celebrated Grasmere Gingerbread. After a day...

The gingerbread shop at Grasmere village Cumbria is very good indeed. The staff wear period dress and the shop is very quaint. The gingerbread is proper gingerbread and is delicious.
However I would just like to warn people who want to pop in to Grasmere to buy some gingerbread (which I would recommend) to avoid the pay and display car...

The tiniest shop in the entire world, yet it holds so much character. Oh, and the gingerbread is to die for ;-) A must visit.
I love this place - I pop in every time I am up in the lakes...prices are reasonable for what it is...but more of a treat than anything.
Arrived late on Saturday to find G-braed run out, but returned Sunday to buy... Proper gingerbread, not ginger biscuit! Shop quaint and focussed, staff in period costume!
The best gingerbread that you will eat ever!! Not as you image, very fresh and delicious - crumbly and soft with strong pieces of ginger adding to the taste sensation. Always a long queue that no one cares about as it IS WORTH the wait !! You will always buy more as you know it wont stay around for long.
Buy some whilst on holiday and take it home...then re-live your holiday with the taste of Lakeland...mmm!
