Of course it wasn't excellent, it was pure nostalgia. We went on a cold, raining May day. The sea was the colour of lead, the wind whipping and the white tops lashing the stoney shore. It took me all the way back to my childhood in Weston Super Mare. A pier has a distinctive smell, a feel, an atmosphere. It's... More

We went in the late afternoon/early evening. We had a great time walking along the pier, checking out all the stalls and little shops, and playing in the arcade! At that time of the day most of the kids have gone, so it makes a great location for a silly/fun date! It is a old fashioned type of pier which... More

Granted my visit was not at peak tourist season so crowds were below average, but the pier was clearly a fun place for kids. With huge rooms filled with shining, clanging, ringing machines and games, boardwalk games and rides, a parent couldn't go wrong with a visit! The only ride I went on was the haunted horror ride and it... More

I enjoyed the free deckchairs, and the music being piped out of the speakers all along the pier, not loud in your face music, but chillaxing music. The atmosphere was good and I felt safe there on my own lounging in a deckchair. The sun was shining too which helped. More

On a recent trip to Brighton visited the Pavilion (excellent) and Brighton Pier where the ludicrously noisy piped music made it impossible to hear the water lapping against it. The succession of loudspeakers along the whole length of the Pier means there is no escape from this terrible noise. More

You cant go to Brighton and not go on the pier! The rides are great, the chip shop is lovely and the whole place has a wonderful laid back atmosphere. There is nothing better than sitting in the sun with a pint of cider looking out over the sea. More

Love the pier and walking along is great with enough attractions to enjoy yourself. The amusement are fun and good food places whether you want a cream tea or fish and chips. Free entry as well. More
