The Park features beautiful formal gardens, lakes and woodlands which can be enjoyed via a network of paths. There is a Visitor Centre in the village staffed by local volunteers. Trust members can park for free in the Trust's car park, details on the website. As well as the village itself visitors can also visit Cockington Court a newly renovated craft centre in the centre of the park or make a day of it by combining it with a visit to Occombe Farm. « less

We walked from Torquay which was pleasant through a wooded area, the village is picturesque with small shops, we then went to Cockington court which has small industries (some were closed we visited on a Monday so beware of this).

Gardens were good with the azaleas in bloom, but the parking was very expensive. If you drive past the main car park and continue on the one way system out of the village there is free car parking on the road.

Lovely little gift shops too. Delicious cream teas and superb Cheesy Chips! A perfect visit on a summers day too when the flowers come out. Lots of birds and ducks around. A small place but well worth the visit!

Don't visit too early in the day or there will not be any live demonstrations going on and some of the units will not be open.

We visited Cockington Gardens. The church, grounds, quaint cottages and many walks we're a delight. I do hope they get enough volunteers to restore the garden. Lunch in Rose Cottage was very pleasant.
