Just out of Torquay centre, this is a great beach to visit although as posters have noted, there's not much sand, mainly shingle and rocks, but the setting is perfect on a sunny day or a stormy day. The cafe at the western end has its own entries on this website, but I would recommend starting at the cafe and... More

Close to the hotel...so nice to stroll along...but nothing there. Good to have the beach so close that you could go for a walk anytime.

Dislike- not much space for parking, and quite a few steps to go onto the beach in parts of the area. However, this could be a blessing as it restricts how many people can come there and can make it more peaceful. It is such a lovely beach with sand and clean inviting water. There are public toilets and a... More

A more unknown part of Torquay and a beautiful spot with surrounding cliff walks. Nice for a sandwich lunch overlooking the sea

Uncrowded, peaceful, and on a clear day you can see for miles. Go for a walk at sunset - it is stunning.

Love sitting there looking out towards Thatcher Rock, beautiful setting and even more dramatic in the Winter!

This is a small bay which gets fully covered by the sea twice a day. This keeps it clean but does mean you have to time your visits. To the south is a beach café, rows of beach huts and a sun terrace with showers making it ideal for bathers. Car parking is very limited, there is a small pay... More

Signs on the beach advise no swimming due to sewage in the water. Yeuch! The views from the seawall are nice but it's definitely a visual not an interactive experience. Not much sand either
