Car park free, no fee to get in Abbey. The best souvenir shop I ever ever seen, no cheap tat, quality stuff. And to top that the tea room come restaurant was excellent. The Abbey is still under renovation at time of our visit. But doesn't deter from the magnitude of the building. Well worth a visit.

Interesting piece of 20th century building in a mash of Cistercian design and Anglo-Norman style. The spiritual life seems to have drained away with the shrinking of the monastic community and the revelations of sexual abuse by two monks at the former prep school, which closed in 1994 and now houses a commercial conference centre; it thus has somewhat of... Buckfast Abbey is a majestic structure - proving that, even as recently as the twentieth century, we still had the ability to produce great buildings. The grounds are spacious, beautifully maintained and a haven of peace for anyone who loves to explore heathers and shrubs or just sit and think. Inside the Abbey is the grandest and most beautiful stained... More

Such a beautiful restoration, the abbey is stunning and both the main church and modern chapel at the rear are both simple and serene. The grounds and facilities, shop, cafe, video room are all of a very high standard.

The Abbey is wonderful although the alterations/clean up are taking some time. We spent several hours walking around the grounds, which are lovely in the summer, before entering the Abbey itself. We also took lunch in the restaurant, which offers good value for money. There are gift and souvenir shops and a special shop which sells items from other similar... More

A great suprise to find the food was very good value for money in the cafe. In particular, the home made deserts were outstanding. We would eat there again in the future.
