Although the decor is long past its best, the main screen has large comfortable seating. The picture/sound quality was excellent. Snacks were competitively priced. The attached cafe serves excellent coffee.

sorry to say this, it feels very run down, the seats were not comfortable, the screen seemed very blurred, the staff uninterested and we were really cold. Next time we will go somewhere a bit better.

It's fair to say the Royal cinema is old and dated and we almost decided not to go after reading a couple of the reviews. We stuck with our plans and went to watch oblivion. The sound and screen were perfectly adequate. The seats are threadbare with some dodgy springs as well. But we just moved to another seat which... More

The royal cinema in St.Ives is absolutely terrible. Everything is stupidly over priced which is the case for most cinemas but it doesnt normally bother you if the cinema is a nice one. The money they make from us the least they could do is to give it a coat of paint and new chairs! The chairs are horrendous, all... More

Our annual holidays in north Cornwall wouldn't be the same without at least one rainy day visit here. The minute you enter, it is like stepping back in time - red velour everywhere and a warm welcome. Refreshment costs however are typically current day - overpriced as you would expect. However, the convenience store opposite is ideal place to stock... More

I love this cinema because its like the good old fashioned ones we went to years ago! It has all the latest movies on plus sweets and treats but its so quiet!!! Every time I've gone with a friend we've had the whole place to ourselves.....private screening room round the corner really!!!!

I had been looking forward to seeing Ganster Squad and whilst I did see part of the movie, unfortunately I couldn't hear much of it. I have perfect hearing but made the mistake of sitting at the back of the small cinema. The speakers would appear to be at the front of the cinema next to the screen and not... More

Friendly greeting but Cinema needs alittle bit of a lick and a promise, bu it was adequate on a blustery November night to see Skyfall.

As usual with cinemas, popcorn, sweets and drinks expensive. Getting in takes time, queue for tickets is same as for food and drinks to encourage you to buy, it does slow down access considerably. Many buy their sweets across the road before going in!
