A very interesting history - well worth a visit if you have time. The stained glass windows reveal more of the history so it is worth looking at them a bit more closely.

We had a good luck around the church. It was great for a quiet prayer. You could also get a cup of tea/coffee and cold drink there and some nice friendly chat with the locals.

The people were so lovely and eccentric in that charming English way. They answered my rather niave questions without prejudice and were so genuinely warm and passionate. The coffin in the wall is such a cool artifact and definitely a highlight of Chester! Go and visit and have a cup of tea.
OK the actual church is not sensational but they must be the most friendly people in the UK. Just drop in, have a cup of tea or coffee and relax for a short while
Great welcome and we were allowed to take as many photos as we liked. A beautiful church which it is easy to miss.

We enjoyed our visit. Very atmospheric and well worth a visit. On the tourist trail too so easy to find.
St John's is one of the most beautiful buildings of Chester - perserving a large part of its original Norman building. Open during the day and free to enter, it is worth a visit (and it is next to the Roman amphitheatre). There is a little kiosk selling reasonably priced drinks and snacks. Good leaflets to give you information about...

Visted this church as I had read a little about it before travelling. Received warm welcome on arrival. Wonderful architecture, certainly has the wow factor. Well worth a visit
