Expensive, but overall it is worth it. It is a really good zoo, especially now they have refurbished parts of it (it was sorely needed!) But they really need to improve on their educational talks. Bring a picnic with you though, as the cafe's are very expensive.

This is my most favourite day out in the UK, there is so much to see and do here, though I'm too scared still to experience the Bat Cave (really called Twilight Zone). This time I was brave enough to do the Butterfly Journey and I'm so glad I did - though flapping wings do freak me out,ha ha!!!

I have just been with my partner to Chester Zoo, where she completed her Zoo Keeper for a day experience.
She spent the whole day cleaning out giraffes, feeding Okapis, warthogs, and Camels, and she had a great time. Whilst she was occupied, I took the time to have a walk round the Zoo and take some photos.

Chester Zoo is a large and excellent zoo. It is expensive, though like many locals have annual membership which works out less than 3 visits. To 'do' the whole zoo would take a day. There is currently (until Nov 2012) an animatronic dinosaur park included in the cost. Other than the monorail and water bus once in everything is included....

Its always good to see animals in a pleasant environment and also for children to learn about the steps being taken to reintroduce and maintain species in the wild.

Plenty to do and see here, you will find it almost impossible to see everything in one visit. It's not cheap, but you can take a picnic with you as there are plenty of areas provided for you to eat and drink. make sure you get a map when you go through the gates as you are bound to get...

Well worth the money (which isn't that much really). Easy to get to by bus from Chester Centre too!
