I had a very disappointed 8 year old who had been looking forward to visiting the Georgian House, she was very upset when we arrived to find out it was not open on a Friday-not good!

I went here reluctantly as I'm not really into museums etc., but my partner wanted to go, and we found it quite interesting. It's free to get in, easy to get to, and the staff are very friendly. It took us about 20 minutes to look around as it's quite small, but you could possibly stretch this to 40-60 minutes...

Historically interesting, easy to find (close to Park street) and free. This house gives a good impression of life during the slave trade period - for the non-slaves!
This Georgian House is free entry and the staff were very helpful. The routine is to see the ground floor and then kitchens after that guest rooms and finally top floor. It is only then that you realize that all the wealth came from a slave trader. I think this could have been emphasized more with photos.
House set out as it was in Georgian times, with history and information about the mechant who lived there and his slave Pero. Very interesting and worth a visit.
We saw this marked on our Bristol map, off Park Street, so decide to pop in and take a look. Worth a visit but was unable to take a look around upstairs as no lift the stairs being to many. Information cards were handed out and which were helpful in gathering an impression o life back them.
A good idea...

this place has held a facination since I was very small - love the history - if you want to know more about Bristol's past then come here and understand
Very interesting, specially the kitchen area, although the original interiors are not fully preserved, and might be boring for some children, as there are no interactive displays.
A elegant, but unassuming, facade reveals are beautifully furnished and assembled interior which gives a strong idea of how a wealthy Bristol family might have lived in the Georgian period. Children might not be too excited by it, but it is a fascinating visit for adults.
Interesting place though it feels a bit gloomy. Free admission so it is well worth a look for its history. The cold plunge bath near the kitchen was interesting.
