This day long (19km) trail is the best in the Park for those with the stamina. Specatcular high pass with views into both the U.S. and Canada. Lots of peaks all around and three small lakes in the basin for fishing and picnicing. Also access to alpine wildflowers in season. Take the shuttle bus up to the start at Cameron... More

Have two vehicles for this hike and leave one at each end. A great challenging hike, a long hike, and some very nice lakes at the top that I've heard you can fish in (with a license of course). We almost always cross snow at the top - last time we did this was in July 2010. You can do... More

If you are in good shape and are an experienced walker/hiker - you will find this is the premier hike in the park. It is a one way hike from Cameron Lake and you must arrange for a ride or shuttle to start. It starts in the cool shady glades of a lake where moose graze early morning, then ascends... More

We set-up this hike with Tamarak Outdoor Outfitters - Carey was our guide. I have two teenage sons and I believed that a hike with a guide would make all the difference. Turns out I was right. We would not have had the amazing experience we had without Carey's expertise and care. With a degree in environmental science, he knew... More

The Carthew-Alderson Trail is a very nice hike. The first part of the hike up to Summit Lake provides great views of Cameron Lake from above. The trail continues to offer great scenery over the Carthew Summit, and all the way to the 3 Carthew Lakes. Alderson Lake is also a pretty spot. However, the 2nd half of the hike... More

This is a fantastic hike (I think ~22km) -- quite honestly, one of the best I have ever done! Check out more detailed descriptions at trailpeak.com or onedayhikes.com. The short story is as follows: Leave your car in Waterton and arrange to take the hiker shuttle from Tamarack Outfitters to Cameron Lake. Take lots of water, sunscreen, a hat, a... More
