We were passing through the Brackendale having received multiple recommendations to view eagles from a a park next to the Squamish River. There were several volunteer bird watchers from a local club that were on site that explained various aspects of the Eagles. The bald eagles were 4 years of age or more while the dark headed eagles were less... More

Although we didn't see many eagles - they are in Brackendale from November to approximately middle of February, we still spotted a few who were late leaving the area. In the summer of course it is a beautiful region for walking the trails.

The eagle viewing area on the dyke along the Squamish River is an excellent spot for eagle viewing. Peak time is during the salmon run from November to end of January when the highest number of birds can be spotted around Squamish. Most birds are migrating elsewhere in the spring but some are remaining year round. A very nice spot... More

If you are in the area I recommend you at least stop at this park. Even if you do not see eagles the view is well work the 5 minute stop. It was a nice 15 minute walk up and down the dike and I saw a sign saying people are around to help show or talk about the eagles... More

I have never seen so many eagles in one spot in my life. Such a beautiful and scenic part of Canada. Bring a good lens for your camera to get good shots of the eagles.

very scenic location along the river and you may see many eagles on the other side in December and January. On Saturdays the have binoculars set up so you can see them up close. Dress warm, you will see more Eagles on a rainy dreary day than on a sunny day.

How many eagles can you count in one day? On Sunday we saw dozens of crows, hundreds of seagulls, numerous various water fowl, a couple hundred bald eagles, 5 goldens and a huge seal. It was fascinating to watch the drama of feeding, hear the orchestra of bird calls, and smell the freshness of nature at its best. Can't wait... More

My wife and I decided to head to Whistler to enjoy the fresh snow on the tops of the mountains and the sunshine. If you can find a day like that in the winter it is awe inspiring to drive the Sea to Sky highway. Anyways the sun was lost behind clouds and we decided to investigate Brackendale's claim that...
