A thought provoking, reflective visit to a site we have past many times over the years and wondered what was on the inside. Great to see you had fun on the ex-inmate tour. If you get the chance again you should try to ex warden tour, hearing the stories from a different perspective is amazing and, when teamed with the ex-inmate tour, gives you a great insight into what life was really like behind bars. More

“Modern closed jail”

Being jail hunters from way back we were excited about this jails modern history including housing people that are considered some our worst. The facility is well looked after and represents excellent value for money. Consider this on any tour of maitland area. At least once More

I have visited Maitland Gaol on numerous occasions, I highly recommend both the ghost tour and the inmates tour. The architecture is interesting as is the total feeling of hopelessness. Highly recommended. More
