Went with my wife and young daughter. We loved the views of the clear blue water, forests and beaches. Saw family of rabbits on way up. Picnic tables at top are nice for a packed lunch. 360 degree views of Mt. Maunganui. Free, not-as-crowded parking along the street near boat ramps, west side of hill.

A great climb. the views are worth the effort. But dont try it if you are a bit weary. Coming down is the easy bit
