I stayed in a hotel around Lovina and recommended for a dolphin tour. We thought, it'll be a standard show in an aquarium or some sort. But our jaw dropped after we see those beautiful creature in the wild, swimming along our boat! Everyone that going to stay in Lovina must try this... It's awesome!!!

Best spot for Dolphins, the fishermen took us early morning (6.00am) and ride for 20 minutes until we reached the othere fisher boat and tourists;waiting for dolphins. We saw few (10 to 15 ) swimming and we followed them for around 1h to 1H30 . The trip was inexpensive 50 000 rps for each person. We were 4 ppl in... More

The Lovina area in north Bali may not have the surfing beaches of the south but it had more than enough to occupy my family. We went in low season and stayed in a private villa 10 mins out of town. We didn't bother with the overpriced "Melka swimming with dolphins" but going out dolphin watching with a Katut in... More

To appreciate the true beauty of Bali and better understand the lifestyle of its people it is a good idea to break away from the tourist saturated areas such as Tuban, Kuta Legion and Seminyak. On my last three visits to Bali I caught a local bus through the terraced rice fields and villages in western Bali.Travelling via Tabanan, Papuan... More

You can do Dolphin-watching in the morning. Nice and quiet area, but I felt the place was just a touristic area and missed some local charm. Lots of resorts and tourists all around. Locals are nice and welcoming there, as usual in Bali. I played some Volleyball with the Locals there, they had a rather good level. The beach and... More

Lovina beach is a black sand beach but the beach is not very clean (still acceptable). The boat rental is IDR 600,000 for 6 people (can share with other group). If you were lucky enough you can see dolphins swimming in the sea [I am that lucky girl :) ], otherwise you only can enjoy the sunrise and breeze in... More

One of my best experiences in Bali was the dolphin watching trip by Benni the boatman. Thanks to Benni who is extremely patient and experienced, we managed to see many many dolphins even though we spent the first hour waiting for the dolphins to appear. It was indeed a wonderful experience being in the boat surrounded by swimming dolphins. Although... More

During our stay in Ubud, we were told that Lovina is the perfect place to relax and to get away from the crowds (i.e. Kuta). Unfortunately, the beach of Lovina is full of rubbish, plastic bags etc. When we were there (Jul 12), only 2-3 people were sunbathing or swimming. The only thing really to do is dolphin watching (mixed... More
