Small garrisons of a Canadian regiment now stays in the citadel and there is nothing great to see. They have hourly conducted tours inside for a fee where they will narrate the history of the Citadelle. Good for the history buffs and photographers.

The citadelle is a military garnison, even in our days. It's impressive as a construction. Definitely worth visiting. There's a fee if you want to take the guided tour inside it.
Tour guide did a great job sharing the interesting history of this historic place. Fantastic views from the top.
Take a guided tour and get lots of good information about the Army unit's history at a still active Army base.
If you like ary history about the wars and see a museum this is the place to go. Very interesting guided tours. The tours are in French and English. You can see the changing of the guard which is intertaning

Wonderful guide with good knowledge of the site: helpful and funny when questions asked. Well presented and provides good overview of the history and fortifications
It's worth taking the tour. The views of the grounds on the outside of the fort are amazing. It's a Quebec must-see. There are tours in English and French. There are some steep streets, so it could be difficult for the mobility-challenged. The history is though-provoking and well-presented.
I was on foot, and the directions for pedestrians are abysmal. (Because it's an active military base, perhaps they don't care?) Compulsory one-hour tour, which provided some interesting info. Would have preferred to wander, but that's not allowed. Probably be much better in late June when the changing of the guard begins, or in 2014, when they open new museum.
Let me say straight away you cannot see the citadel as a lone tourist as this is a functioning military base for the 22nd Canadian regiment so they won't let you inside unless you take tour. Having said this, the tour is really fantastic, takes about one hour and you will get to see two separate museums that are housed...
