My wife and I were fortunate to take the tour with Marie (Valerie Bedard), a ghost of a long dead "King's Daughter". Marie came to New France to become the wife of a settler and after not having any luck in Quebec City, she moved to Three Rivers and married a minor criminal turned royal executioner. They then moved back... More

We enrolled for the Friday night Promenades Fantomes and we had a blast! Marie Lariviere dite Rattier (aka Valerie B.) was AWESOME! We laughed, screamed out loud, and felt shivers up and down our spines. Valerie breathed life into Marie Rattier, and was a crackerjack guide: informed, charismatic and a good storyteller. My friends and I were in Quebec for... More

We took both this tour and the other company's ghost tour and found this one to be vastly more entertaining. Both tell similar stories of scandals, murders and executions, but the use of actors bringing the characters to life made this tour far more exciting. Our guide, Valerie was both extremely knowledgeable and very funny. All the actors are to... More

Adds a little twist to the history of the area. Very entertaining and interesting. Our guide Michael was excellent (he should be on stage if not already) Be prepared for a good walk. More

This tour was the one recommended to us at the tourist center as being fact based. We should have taken the other one. Although the girl was very funny there was alot of walking and not much talking. We had hoped to hear more history of haunted buildings and landmarks. The whole thing was rather silly. Overpriced too. We should... More

The ghost tour was recommended to me by a number of people so we decided to check it out. Apparently there are 2 companies offering ghost tours, and this is not the best one. Our tour lasted only an hour, and it was little more than a walk around town. The guide was still fairly knowledgeable about the stories he... More

This past Friday night, I took a tour in English with a very small group. Our guide was extremely nice and VERY funny, using history and folklore to poke fun at her "sister," the French tour guide. The tour was very informative, and I recommend it be the first thing you do when visiting Quebec City, because it also gives... More

A great way to learn a bit about New France's more gruesome tales of legends, serial killers and capital punishment. Your ghostly guide takes you around the most scenic parts of old quebec, starting at the high point of the town, winding downward so its easy on the feet. We passed another night tour operator who had their group going... More

Starting in the upper town behind a church, the Ghost Lantern Walking Tour (Promenades Fantomes) is led in English or French by a ghostly host/hostess in 17th Century costume. As they guide you past the familiar landmarks of old Québec, your guide recounts tales, mostly of famous crimes and executions that took place there. The guide we had was well-prepared... More
