Near old port (actually at old port). Didn't do the museum or tower tour, but would seriously consider it time permitting.

We were walking around with our baby just walking to see what we could see. We came across this chapel and decided to go in, because why not. I very much appreciated a museum about history from a female perspective, instead of the phallic-centric we normally learn. You learn both the history of this remarkable woman, and the history of... I was shocked and delighted when I stepped into this chapel. The exterior is dramatic without being imposing as you approach from Rue Bonsecours. The inside can be described the same way. All of the decoration is painted and the trompe l'oeil on the surfaces makes flat plaster as detailed and textural as fine brocade -- other than that it... More

A small Paris version. Nice plaza and area of Montreal. The architecture is fantastic you need to visit it and walk around.

This church is small, and has a museum next to it. I recommend visiting both. I was here last year too, during Christmas. They had a great Christmas program, with different choirs very day (I think they were free too!). The museum is different than anything I have seen, and I loved the display showing Margeret Bourgois' life and how... More

Everything from the carvings to the stained glass windows show the love that inspired this lovely church. I am so glad this was included in our tour. You can feel the serenity when you walk in. Unfortunately, some people didn't realize this was a house of worship and talked quite loudly and allowed their children to run around. This is... More

This intimate chapel i believe is was the original Notre Dame Church in Montreal. Right in Old Montreal but on the outer boundaries. Small but an important stop as you walk the streets of the old city!
