Beautifully done museum where you can see the old city below the level of present Montreal. We took a guided tour. The guide was very knowledgeable and answered everyone's questions. It is not a large museum. (They have plans for expansion.) VEry much worth a visit.

The main museum was spoilt for me by an invasion of 6 coach loads of school children who were everywhere including the main reception area which they had completely overrun and were eating their lunch on every available inch of floor space, I love children but this made it impossible for any ordinary visitors to see the exhibits or even... 2 exposotions while there and both intersting but very different : one on the roads of the tea and other based on the Beatles venue in Montreal, long yeras ago. The museum itself is terrific with multimedia installation. But it's expensive : 25 $

A really interesting museum for both adults and our 11 and 14 year old kids. We were fortunate to arrive shortly before the opening media show, whihc was excellent. It provided a good introduction to the city's history, culture and the musuem site. This was followed by a guided tour in English. It was just the four of us and... More

For me the history of Montreal was essentially a blank sheet until I visited the Museum. A really good introductory film in an unusual theatre setting was an excellent scene setter. Exploring the archaeological remains beneath the building was enjoyable if a little scatological. Very well worth a visit for anyone curious about the founding and development of the city... More

The exhibit is fun, but more of a retrospect than a real exhibit. Lots of guitars "very nearly like the one a Beatle might have played". Still a good way to spend an hour on a rainy day, which it was.

I am glad that TripAdvisor accepted my suggestion to add this Montreal landmark to its list of places to see. I have visited both Pointe-à-Callière's permanent and a few temporary exhibits and was never disappointed. Can't wait to see the exhibition on The Tea Roads, that opens up on April 30th! The Samourais exhibition featuring Richard Béliveau's extensive collection was... More

The Pointe-à-Callière Museum in Old Montréal is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Beatles. It is an interesting exhibit and the main attraction is the Rolls-Royce Phantom V once owned by John Lennon. Among the displays are reproductions of the guitars on the walls. You can watch videos and of course listen to Beatles music or try karaoke. Fans will... More

I was here to see the samurai exhibition, and from here we wandered into an exhibition about the beatles that was less impressive but still interesting. There is also a permanent exhibition on the history of montreal and this alone is worth the price of admission. You will see small scale mockups of what the town looked like during colonisation...
