Originally home to the owner of the land that is now High Park, Colborne Lodge is a beautiful historical house that really showcases early Canadian homes. Also a great spot for fall activities for the kids, i.e. Halloween activities are offered annually. More

I checked out Colborne Lodge last October as they were holding Halloween-inspired walking tours which both explored the history of the home, along with some interesting stories too. I haven't had a chance to go back again, but understand they also decorate quite nicely for Christmas and hold crafty events like wreath-making workshops. More

I had walked through High Park a few times without noticing Colborne Lodge. From the outside it looks a bit dingy and abandoned (except for the beautiful gardens). One afternoon I noticed a woman in a historic costume out front so I walked up to talk to her and ended up on a tour of the house with 3 other... More
