Just found people were not that friendly there. Seem like they are not good with kids, kids seemed to annoy them. More

Took grandchildren there many times. There's nothing like it for them to find their own pieces and take it to "show and tell" I get to buy them Christmas gifts, they hang sun catchers in their windows and remember Grandma and our fun all year. More

I love taking my kids to amethyst mines in the Thunder Bay area and letting them find their own precious gems. We had a ball at this mine and the new store is lovely. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. All in all, visiting this mine was a wonderful experience. More

I expected it to be a lot better then it actually was. I thought you actually get to go in the mine and get your own amethyst but its a field that you get them from..it looks like they were put there for us to get. We wouldn't return. More

An interesting place to learn about the geological wonder of amethyst. You can pick through the tailings to find your own chunks of purple rock. It's not cheap, but it is fun and interesting. More

Interesting place where you can sift through the mine tailings looking for good pieces of Amethyst. They have yables to wash off what you have found and decide what to keep. You pay by the pound when you leave and it is reasonable. There are gemstone quality pieces there if you know what to look for. More

We paid the $8 a piece to get a guided tour. On signs on the way up they stated you were expected to pay this fee. The tour was about 5 minutes and it was pretty much what I had all ready read online and in their brochures. There was another couple that came in just before us and they... More
