Now, let's make sure I got this right. I should have it right. I've stared at this mountain from my parents house for several decades now. There are two "levels". The first level is where you can drive to, on the left side of the mountain from the road heading to Chippewa park. What is here? Well, it's pretty rustic,... More

This is a mountain on our local native's reserve. Each year they have a pow-wow, which is quite a site to see (expresses their heritage) Standing on top you can see Lake Superior, Sleeping Giant, literally all of the town. There's a lot of history here. This was where the town got it's drinking water, and up there you can... More

The sign says "if you miss Mt McKay, you miss Thunder Bay".... I don't think that is true. The view is awesome and there is a neat chapel to see but there is often some sketchy dude half way in collecting money. Not sure if he works there or is just hanging out. Very expensive to access the site and... More

We went to Mt McKay but the road was blocked by a locked gate and no one was there to open it. I think it would have been amazing. Don't bother in April. More

Pay your fee, then drive up the winding road to a great look out. On a clear day you get panoramic views of Lake Superior, the Giant, and over the town to the foothills. Good at any time it is open, early morning brings spectacular sunrises, evening brings the lights of the city, and during the day you never know... More

We went up in the fall and the colours of the trees were amazing. The road to get up on the other hand can use some work. There was nobody working the gate so it didn't cost anything. A must for travelers to the city to see. More

It looked like a bomb hit this place. The road up to the lookout should only be attempted by 4x4 jeeps. More

a bit sketchy to get there and don't drive a nice car (SUV/Truck are better) the roads aren't great and muddy in the spring. Once you are up there it's beautiful and the views are amazing; excellent view of Sleeping Giant. It's a reality check to drive through the reserve and see how some of the Natives live (very nice... Nice scenery, but not much to do. I don't think they should charge you to go up there. The road isn't very good. Good place to go to take Fall pictures. More
