I went with a group of ten friends on the Elora Gorge-West Montrose trip. There were 47 people. All equipment was provided, we were given basic instructrion on how to kayak / paddle, and let loose on the river. Don't waste your time with a raft unless you want to be get stuck along the way (multiple times).
