This is an amazing museum - we visits with our 5 year old child and it was really excellent- paid the extra to see the whale exhibit and it was well worth the money. Strongly recommend - allow 5 - 6 hours if you really want to see the exhibits.

Everyone will benefit from a trip to this fascinating museum. So many great floors. A personal favorite was the bird gallery. Lots of interactive games and displays designed to get visitors involved. I learned to identify the calls of different birds. Did you know that ravens are much larger than crows?
Oh and don't miss identifying your hot spots thanks...

By far one of the best museums in Ottawa. With the renovations done a few years ago, kids and adults will learn and discover anything from mammals to fish, whales, and birds

The bird exhibit was first class. Interactive resources for children abound. The special exhibit on death was not on target and poorly attended. The building's history alone was worth the visit.

My kids are very interested in animals so this was a great museum to visit. Like many similar museums it was filled with "stuffed" animals, but it also had a number of interactive exhibits, games, etc. One of the better natural history museums I've been to (and I've been to a few).
