Loved the guided tour giving details into the history of the buildng and parliament. It was good that we could depart from the guide and go into the chamber to hear a debate as well. Terrific history and lovely architecture.

This was our third trip and tour to the Pariliament Buildings. I was disappointed in this tour as it was quite watered down. Previously the tour guides discussed the architecture, went into detail about the carvings in the foyers, pointed out the significance of the stained glass windows and explained the Canadian parliamentary system..

Tickets to the free Parliament Hill tour (centre building of the three) must be obtained at the small building directly across the street. No tickets, no admission. The tour itself is shorter than I remembered from my last visit three years ago. Our guide was personable, very friendly, and kept up a high enthusiasm level, but we had to wait...

FIRST, you must go in the building facing the Parliament, across the street. There, you get your free reservation tickets for the time you would like to visit on that day. Be in front on Parliament 5-10 minutes before and proceed to security check with your group and guide. The Library is worth the tour. Splendid! We got to see...

We picked up our tickets for the free tour across the street in front of the Parliament buildings. It was a Monday morning so not one person was in the line up. The Hill and surrounding buildings are lovely (especially with snow in the winter). Do wear comfortable shoes as there can be lots of walking if you fancy exploring. The tour is a must but be sure to go early to avoid the crowds and to ensure you get a ticket!
