The gallery is full of wonderful art and you can spend a few hours there without realizing it. The Group of Seven exhibit was very nice to see and brought back memories of the landscape of Canada. It would have been nice to have a place to sit down and have a snack but the restaurant didn`t appear to be... More

Canada's National Gallery is a small and varied collection, but in a way that's a plus because it gives one the chance to see and study the works well set off with plenty of space around them. I was on a one-hour group tour, followed by a lovely tea in the atrium with a back view of the Parliament buildings... More

I only had a 2 hour window to see the National Gallery, and it wasn't nearly enough time. The building is really beautiful, but I found it really difficult to get my bearings and figuring out the map. I sought out Voice of Fire; it was very very impressive A lot of the Group of Seven works weren't there and... More

Visited in February when a lot of Group of Seven works were overseas on exhibition, so several galleries were closed off completely, but the Gallery was very impressive nonetheless. Would love to return. The entrance fee was reasonable, coat check was excellent - and free - and the Gallery was easy to get to on foot. More

An impressive selection of Art of all types is always on display at the National Gallery. This is a great place for visitors to the city and we (residents) also always enjoy the changing presentations of Art. Look for General Idea's work in the modern areas. More

It is an inspiring space. I especially like the "clock" temporary exhibit but the contemporary art exhibits were terrific. More

I have visited many galleries around the world, and this has to be one of the most beautiful in its design, setting, and views. The art collection is top notch, but not hugely different from what you might expect. There is certainly a strong Canadian angle to the collection. And nice gallery store too. - a great overall package. More

Love Ottawa's museums but especially the National Gallery. Wide range of Canadian and European art from modern all the way back. Special permanent collection of the Group of Seven which I adore and well as truly excellent travelling exhibitions. They have Audio Guides for most of the latter and manage to find curators to do them who provide a ton... More
