They have some wonderful permanent exhibits! My favorite though was the neon exhibit, which although it is not permanent, they will continue to have some great old neon throughout the other exhibits.

We always try it fit in a museum or two when we travel. This one seemed like the perfect way to spend a few hours. We took advantage if the hop on hop off bus to get to the false creek ferry which shuttled us across to the museum. Entrance for one adult and one senior was $22. We loved...

I was a bit disappointed in this museum. The information was there but displayed in such a confused way that I came away feeling that it could have been done so much better if they used some of the other spaces in the museum to enlarge this permanent exhibition. On the plus side, I learned a lot about the history...

An interesting museum focusing on the period since the 1900's but there was very little about the founding of the city and its history before that. We were a little disappointed as most city museums hold a complete history. There is an impending display of 'first nation' stories. A few of the less savoury aspects of Canadian history are covered...

Once you start reading the displays, it takes you into the city`s history and provides the right level of details. The displays are very well done and we...

As a first-time visitor to Vancouver, I was very pleased about the section on the city's history, as I was eager to learn. I felt that more topics could have been covered, and would have liked more in-depth details, but what was there was extremely well explained and presented and is definitely worth the visit. The two temporary exhibits (art...

This out of the way (for a Vancouver visitor) museum has remarkable artifacts of the Salish (Vancouver) people in a great space. Mixed in with them is contemporary art which borrows from them. The odds and ends of other cultures (17th century European, East Asian) that fill the less dramatic spaces of the museum seem to fit in with native,...

Art Deco Chic, a special exhibit running till September 23, delivers exactly what it promises – a look at the glamorous clothing that the well-to-do wore between the First and Second World Wars.
There are about 60 outfits dating from the early ‘20s through the late ‘30s. They range from day dresses sold in Vancouver department stores to evening gowns...

I love museums, good ones I can spend ages in. This one I didn't.
It lacks the very early history of Vancouver and some of the exhibits are looking very tired.
The current (Feb 12) Ugly Vanouver special on the old neon signs and street clutter of old Vancouver is ok.
