I was in Quesnel in late April and decided to check out nearby Barkerville. Barkerville does not officially open until mid-May but you can still walk around the town any time of the year. The town is at a higher elevation than Quesnel so much to my dismay it was snowing when I arrived. Luckily the snow didn't last long... More

We visit here any time we can. This is a must go for everyone in BC. Great for families. The re-enactments of historical events that happen out in the streets are so much fun. Everything here is amazing. Just GO.

Be part of history. Experience what it would have been like walking along wooden sidewalks, moving out of the way of a bonafide stagecoach (horses and all). My favourite experience was having tea with Queen Victoria. Her Highness and entourage are in full Victorian dress, proper royal protocol must be followed. Best part was seeing the looks on the small... More

it was my first time there and I loved all the period buildings, actors, carriage rides and food. Remember to bring comfy shoes as you'll be doing lots of walking. My favourite was the carriage ride to the old court house. Definitely a must visit. Will be back.

Went with great company, and the majority of the people there were great!! There was 13 of usall together and most of us dressed up for the occasion. Sleigh rides were a highlight - gentleman in charge was a great person.

Arts Wells and Barkerville team up and it's a fantastic weekend. Musician, theatre and an eclectic crowd make this one of my favorite weekends of the year! The venues in Barkerville are very intimate...as well as the spirit of the town is magical

A certain Billy Barker struck gold in 1862, and triggered a goldrush. The boomtown that carries his name is now a heritage site, peopled with actors that pretend to live there in 1870 or 1930 (depending on the time of day). We visited Barkerville during the last week of September, after which they would close down for the season. Even... More
