We are in our 60's and enjoyed this hike. It is uphill all of the way, but has several area to stop, rest and enjoy the view.

The last time I hiked this it took 30-45 min(this was really pushing it, expect 45min to an hour at a leisurely pace) to get to the top where you can START to get a nice view. Once you get up there, you can hike up a little further to the right and to the left of the path. Great... More

we choose this trail as we heard it was a bit of hard work for an amazing reward, too right! I haven't enjoyed a hike like this in a long time, the natural beauty was amazing even in early October. A must do, weather permitting... next year!

Our favorite hike on our trip to Banff/Lake Louise/ Jasper. If you do only one hike-Do this one! Views at the top are amazing-who knows how long the glaciers will be viewable? We took our lunch and sat at the top and just enjoyed the amazing views. Met a wonderful local hiker who answered all our questions and we really... More

The Parker Ridge trail was one of the highlights of our trip to Banff. The trail starts out with a good bit of a climb, but it does not last long and it was not a problem for occasional hikers. We went from hiking through the trees to stunted trees to above the tree line pretty quickly. The vistas open... More

Unexpected because it's not one of the most oftne mentioned hikes. Go all the way up to the top because the view is stunning.

The glaciers will be gone before we know it. This is a beautiful hike to see glaciers from many different viewjpoints. We also saw a bald eagle soaring overhead and a rainbow that displayed its myriad colors all the way through our descent.

This relatively short climb up over Parker's Ridge gives fabulous views.....and a glimpse of the receding glaciers. Even if you are not an avid hiker, go slow and steady for a big reward at the top.

When you get to the ridge it's tempting to turn right up the ridge in the hope of getting views of the Saskatchewan Glacier - don't - turn left and follow the trail down and along the far side of the ridge from where the views are stunning. The Saskatchewan Glacier is bigger than the Athabasca (the main one you... More
