We took the trail beside the lakes & it was well worth the journey as opposed to looking from the observation point on the highway. Some nice scenic views & nice to be able to park & walk the trails too. More

The first and second Vermilion lakes give a tranquille and lovely views to the visitors. Canoeing on the lake gave me an unforgettable memory that I'll cherish for the life time. More

Loved this area. Although located below the main highway, this does not detract from the beauty of these lakes. Within easy walking distance of the town of Banff. When we visited, two couples were having post-wedding photos taken. Beautiful in the snow. More

Early in the year, it's a great spot to see wildlife, as the water is slightly warmer than surrounding lakes, thereby more open water. A relaxing walk 40-min walk, or bike (15 min., from Banff townsite More

I love these lake and the trails around them. So much fun for an afternoon hike. A little known fact... in these lake you can find tropical fish, all kinds of tropical fish! They survive even in the winter because of warm water from some of the hot springs. These fish are from aquariums that have been dumped in these... More
