Trekked up through deep snow to the summit, to gaze down upon frozen Peyto lake. Got accosted by a lone bird (grouse?) whether he gets fed a lot in the summer, or just very hungry, we weren't sure - he seemed to think bootlaces might be worms!! This was a really nice little stop. from main car park there is a little walk to the viewing platform but if it is quiet you can park right up the top in the disabled car park and then it is only a few metres to the platform. From the parking lot off of the Icefield Parkway, we climbed the steep path to the overlook down to Peyto Lake, a beautiful turquoise color.
