Unfortunately, Hurricane Emily and one after her hurt the coral and took a bunch of sand out. Emily was a few years ago, and they are thinking about fixing it......manana

While staying next door at villas del mar, we decided to grab a drink with the kids one afternoon by the pool at the Omni. We ordered 2 cokes, one shirley temple and one virgin pina colada. The total was $27.00! Can't imagine what the cost would have been if there was booze in those drinks!

Just back from a week stay at the Omni and loved this small hotel, yes on a small beach, but you can walk on either direction for a little more sand. Clear, shallow water, don't have to get up at 6 a.m. To get a chair. Can't wait to go back. All of the condos along this beach look nice... More

We've been going to the Omni Beach for years now using our monthly beach pass. In years past, waiters used to take your orders from the beach and now it's very rare to see anyone out of the beach bar. The few times I've ordered at the Beach Bar, the servers have not been as enthusiastic or friendly as they... More

Yes, the beach is eroding fast. If you get there early enough in the day you can grab a lounge chair and park under a tree on a tiny bit of space on the beach. The waters are beautiful and you can still take a nice walk or jog on the sand, relax, read and swim. One plus...it doesn't get... More

Nothing is grosser than sandbags everywhere and this concept of sucking water and sand from the ocean floor with a vacuum (yes they do) to fake a beach.

Ok so the beach has been eroded, but you don't go away just for a beach anyway I think lying on a sunbed with the sea gently lapping at your feet is wonderful, The hotel is lovely and the staff are really friendly particularly the breakfast staff, they really make you feel as though nothing is too much trouble, even down to making... The beach is gone..the sand is gone partly because of hurricane's and erosion..but the more likely culprit is the marina entrance expansion that was done a few years ago..it is keeping the "natural" sand replenishing flow from re-depositing sand onto the beaches..just check out a satellite view of PA..Bing has a old shot prior to the expansion..Google has a recent...
