You have to camp next to the beach, Facilities and ambiance is really rustic if you do not have trouble with that you[ll be fine. People is honest, kind and compromised with your stay. Tichinda tamales are the best (river clamshell) only 5 pesos, unbelievable. Lot of youth. Probably we were the oldest. Night is for young people, but during... More

Myself and a few guys from P.E. went for a day and nite there to see something different and we have heard about the beauty of the area. If your leaving for the day leave early because it takes a couple of different steps to get there if your going by public transportation and not driving on your own. Had... More

My husband and another 2 couples spent a wonderful week-end in Chacahua at the end of May 2010. To get there we hired a van from the airport ($600 pesos) to Zapotalito and got a private boat ($600 pesos) to Chacahua from there. The boat tour took approximately 1h through beautiful sites of mangroves and birds and our guide told... More

Take the boat in if you can help it, its cheap, safer and an... More

So many of the beautiful bays have been developed by major chains or even small developers. I was so pleased to see the Chacagua Bay to be more or less undeveloped. I was able to see "Fisher Eagles" Ospreys, and endangered Wood Storks at a velocity that was too hot for the birdwatchers, but amazing anyway. And then to laze... More

Its a nice place to stay, there's a good looking around, and also the place is unhabited (just the people of the place) , so thats the cool thing, that if you enjoy places where the only thing that you want its to stay calmed, relaxed, and thinking or reading or everything that could be done in silence and tranquility,...
