A pretty astounding level of decoration in this church - very much worth a visit. It does make you think about the shock and awe tactics used by organised religion - this has got to be the most ornate piece of architecture I have ever seen.

try not to look at too many photos of this place if you're going to be traveling to Puebla. located in the Santo Domingo church the first thing you see when you walk in are dozens of figurines against a golden wall. This is a prelude to the spectacular display as you make your way up the aisle and then... More

Even in the Good Friday crush of pilgrims, the visit to one of the wonders of the world is inspiring. The beautiful chapel is of the main nape of the what could be a historic cathedral. Words can not do justice to the beauty and intricacies of the gold gilded ceiling in the chapel.

The Rosary Chapel is a must-see when visiting Puebla. Be sure to ask at your hotel what hours the church housing the Rosary Chapel are open to avoid a wasted trip. The Rosary Chapel is located at the corner of the Pedestrian-Only street of Cinco de Mayo and 4 Poniente.

Do not miss this chapel. I walked into the church and it was lovely, but not "special".. Then I looked to my left and my breath was taken away! I have traveled the world looking at temples/churches and this one chapel will always remain a "main memory" for me! (Don't go on Sundays and make note of the hours it's... More

Amazing decorated chapel, covered with gold leaf, with all kinds of religious figures as well as mermaids and complex strapwork. One of the many wonders of Mexico.

It is a small chapel, however all the decoration is on real gold, it is marvelous, even if you are not a religious fellow. Walk with caution from zocalo to this place is my only advice. Also, some days this chapel is closed, i really don't remember the exact dates, but you can ask around.

I've seen a lot of churches over the years, in Mexico, France, Spain, Italy, the USA. This one may be the most gorgeous; very ornate, encrusted everywhere with gold (all mined in Leon, Mexico, acc. to the guide), beautifully restored and maintained. Everyone who goes to Puebla should see it.
