Great Old Church, build in late 1700's, surprising it has the same type of architecture as many of the early California Missions. This town also has the Original "California Hotel" from the song "Welcome to the Hotel California". Found an excellent Restaurant right across the street from the Hotel. A great town to visit.

Really pretty but small. Surrounded by many small shops and restaurants. If you go here go to The Corner Restuarant, best food around!

We went during their Sunday mass. The mission is beautiful. We felt very welcome. The architecture is lovely.

We thought this gave a taste of how the residents of this small town live. The church is small, traditional and very basic.

Beautiful historical church - lots of history. Tells story of first Jesuit priest who was martyred there.

Unfortunately the church was not open when I was there, but it looked lovely from the outside. The kind of place that you can picture as the heartbeat of the mission for the faithful.

we only got to see the inside from the outside as there was a service going on but what you could see was spectacular!! I so want to go back to take a better look!!!

This church is so beautiful and the mass was in Spanish, but the priest also translated I to English...it was a moving mass and there were quite a few other tourists there for the mass. The church has been lovingly taken care of and I could feel the love and peace inside!

Not many old things are saved.....this is one of the few. Take a few moments, take a seat and reflect. Its a good life!
