Excellent and fun trip! Hope the waves are down, can see bad sight in bathrooms at end of journey due to seasick people giving it up! Buy a one way ticket because there are two ferry companies and the alternate hourly so never buy your return ticket until just before you actually elect to return.....

Your option to sit downstairs in the AC or sit upstairs and have the breeze go through your hair. My husband sat in the ac and he said it was great, no worries about getting sea sick. I sat upstairs with the breeze, awesome. That's what its all about. On our way to Cozumel we were offered water, on the... More

We rode an early ferry to Cozumel. Everything went great with buying tickets, had a short wait in line, and then loading on the ferry in an efficient manner. This ferry is huge. Most everyone sat inside, it was an overcast, windy and rough seas day. Motion does not bother me but there were a few with sea sickness bags... More

Man this company has grown in the last few years. These ferrys have super comfy seats with A/C and a TV playing something while you cruise across the water. The tickets are about 13usd each way and the ride from PDC to Cozumel is about 20-30 min depending on the water conditions. They sell snacks, water, beer.

While we were staying in Cancun we decided to go visit Isla Mujeres using the Ultramar ferry. I wanted to take it from Puerto Juarez since it is a lot cheaper, but getting the right information on how to get there from the hotel zone was a little hard to obtain. I got a lot of conflicting information from the... More

We took the ferry from Playa del Carmen to Cozumel last week. Although, we were informed that the service accepted Visa credit cards, we were surprised when they pushed for cash only for one leg of the trip. For the return trip, I was much more firm with the agent and they accepted Visa as payment

great experience from cancun to isla mujeres. 17 bucks rdtrp.. took the last ferry out but it was to puerto juarez not playa tortuga. more expensive cab ride back to hotel. however , ferry service was great. live music on ride back, under a starlit sky and mexicans singing out loud to their local music gave me goosebumps and made... I seem to get lucky enough to hit the right hour for the Ultramar ferry when going over to Cozumel. Nothing gets you in the Island mood so fast as a nice cold cervesa on the weather deck listening to the guys from Latinga, ship band, while looking at the water. They play on tips only, so give a little.... More

There are actually two ferry services, and they alternate crossings, so don't buy a round trip ticket... you might very well want to come back on teh other line. They also do NOT run every hour - there are some gaps - and we got skunked that way, having to wait aroung in Playa for an extra hour. The ferries... More

While visiting Playa Del Carmen, a person in our group accidentally left some merchandise along with a very expensive camera at Captain Dan's. Jorje from Ultramar was kind to get the merchandise back and contact us in order to get the items back to their owner. Our friend was not very optimistic of the merchandise's returns as expensive items were... More
