It costs around 100 pesos to visit Dzibilchaltun. They no longer allow you to take bags into the site, so if you are planning on swimming in the cenote (and you MUST do this!!) then my advise is wearing your swim suits under your clothes and carry a towel. You could also carry a bottle of water, essential as it... More

Although it is not so well known, it is worth a visit. Nice, educative, quiet, with a nice small museum.

Given its close proximity to Merida, we were determined to visit Dzibilchaltun and learn how to get around all at the same time. This was definitely a worthwhile quest. The site itself is relatively small. The history and the quality of the structures and cenote, as well as the wonderful guided tour, made it a perfect starting point for learning... More

They are close to the city and the recent work done to the area has made them more attractive to both: local and turists.

We went here at the last minute thinking it would be a small, not so popular site. We were right that it was not as popular as the others, but it was definitely more interesting. You may not see as many huge, grand pyramids here, but there was definitely a lot of history and you learn more about how communities... More

We spent the day at the cenote more so than the ruins. A nice day trip out of Merida and a very beautiful setting for a swim. More relaxing and less scary than other cenotes as it is completely open and quite shalow mostly

I have visited this site at least a dozen times over the past 14 years that I´ve lived here and, although little changes, it remains my favorite for too many reasons to list in a short review. The museum is a wonderful surprise as you´d never expect one this good in such an out of the nway place. The outside... More

This place was a great visit. You can see the ruins, check out some wildlife, swim in the cenote and visit the museum all in 2 to 4 hours depending on your pace. The Temple of the 7 Dolls was powerful, although you couldn't go in, you could just feel it. In the museum is where the actual dolls are... More

Very good ruins, cenote is really nice and safe to swim in, the best is that you can go as many times as you want being a 30 minute drive from gran plaza mall.

We had previously visited Mayan ruins in Belize. This site is much smaller, but still impressive, and it's only a 30 minute ride from the port. Our Mayan guide was great - he relayed lots of information, and showed pride in his heritage! Some people enjoyed a dip in the lagoon. We thought the museum of Mayan history and Spanish... More
