We stayed in a resort north of Playa del Carmen about 30 minutes, so we decided to venture out to Cozumel for the day. We rented scooters to get there (plan for a few hours is travelling by scooter!!!) which were......fun. They would not take a credit card as they had no electricity, so the water we purchased was not... More

If you are on Cozumel and want to visit something without tequila being the main ingredient I would recommend this. Now a good drink afterwards should be in order, but this is a very interesting stop. If you are looking for huge pyramids this is not it, but if you are looking for temples, family houses, burial grounds, and some... More

I have been to Cozumel a few times - ports on cruises and a few times for day trips while staying in Cancun. A few wks ago we stopped in Cozumel on a cruise and wanted to do a tour of some Mayan ruins but didn't want to do a long, all-day tour to the Mexican mainland. We found a... More

This was a really nice way to spend the day...a 30 min ride outside of the city, allowed us to see how the Mexican's live. We also had a cab driver who stopped at a local food stand and we bought freshly made tamales. While we waited for them to cook, we drove around the block and saw how poor... More

It was quite spiritual. No vendors just a guide to inform you and this is optional. Don't miss this chance if you are there. Also went to Chechenizta, not as calm hundreds and hundreds of vendors and small children begging. Ruins are larger but not nearly as fulfilling. More

The Temple of Ix-Chel at the san grevasio ruins is lovely! It has a garden where colorful butterflies and hummingbirds dance and the original stone path to the temple of Ix-Chel. The only problem I have is that they took a beautiful Godesses temple and renamed it for a male saint.. More

Came here in April 2011 on a Disney Cruise. The tour was great, and gave us a really cool lesson of the Mayan civilization. More

We had a wonderful time on our shore excursion to the San Gervasio Mayan Ruins and the beach for lunch. Our guide, Miguel, was very informative about the ruins and Cozumel. We wish the time spent at the ruins was longer but because of the cruise timing we could not stay as long as we would have liked. Be prepared... More
