We visited several places in the same day, things are very close.
The catedral is nice and sinking..the palacio is wonderfull. Then we went to Belas artes palacio...wich wasn't that good. We were amazed with the number of police officers, really safe. We walked there day or night time and it was ok. I also enjoyed Casa dos Azulejos.

As it is known, everywhere you see you will find an amazing piece of Colonial Architecture. After a great investment of private capital some years ago, you can walk around the oldest neighborhood in the city safely. Come the weekend and meet tons of locals, tourists, everybody, most of the time is super crowded but I still enjoy it, its the door to plenty historic icons, el zocalo, the cathedral, Palacio Nacional, el Templo Mayor, to mention few. The turibus drops you in the heart of the historic center.
