Bazar Sábado is as it names implies only held on Saturdays, is a very nice place to talk with the artist that create the sculptures, paintings or endless arts and crafts. More

gorgeous square, they sell art and go in to the Bazar del Sabado or saturday´s Bazar, open only on Saturday, with unique art pieces, a bit expensive. There you can have some quesadillas. When you leave, go for a ride through San Angel and Chimalistac More

This is one of San Angel's most charming plazas, with an old-world atmosphere and nice colonial architecture. Avoid on Saturdays (crowds). More

You might visit the Revolutionary History Studies Institute, which has changing exhibits, a library and bookstore in a lovely building at one end of the square (near the San Patricios plaque); after having breakfast at one of the attractive places bordering the plaza. Then cross the road to the wondrous ex-convento del Carmen, where there was a good small bookstore... More

Besides being a lovely plaza, this is also the site of the hanging of several members of the Irish Battalion called the San Patricios (after St. Patrick) who fought on the Mexican side in the Mexican-American War of 1846-1848. Their story is in the book The Irish Soldiers of Mexico, along with maps, photos and a host of anecdotal information.... More

This plaza is in the San Angel part of the city and Diego Rivera's house is also nearby. The park is not really large, but was filled with art for sale on the sunday we visited.
