When you go to Guanajuato a visit to this iconic monument is a must. when you get to the top of the hill, where is located (after 30 min aprox.) you'll have nice views of the Bajio. The "Capilla" inside the "Cristo Rey" is very nice and you feel a deep peace sense!. More

Cool place, you can look out over the surrounding countryside for miles and miles. It's amazing at sunset. Be warned though..it can be very cold and windy..even in the dead of summer. Bring a warm coat. More

I visited el Cristo Rey in March 2008 with my mom and aunt(both in their 70's). We took a tour van and as I remember the drive took a little over an hour from Guanajuato.
