The tour guide speaks only Spanish (I do not) but I understood every word of his well articulated tour. We went down into the mine as he told us the story of the slaves that had to mine for the Spanish overlords. Give him a good tip. Great history and education about the area. More

The grounds are lovely, the views from around there spectacular and though I am somewhat claustrophobic I was able to manage the path down into the mine. The mine itself gives a very good idea of what underground mining was like back in the old days of Guanajuato. More

We had our wedding reception here and loved it. But it's also worth visiting because it's a beautiful place with many great photo opps. You can also go down the mine shaft if you dare! More

There are lots of openings/bocaminas in the Valenciana mine system. However, there is only one that you must visit, "Bocamina San Cayetano"!!!!!! This museum has been round for about 18 years. With the right guide, the mine comes alive. The fires burning their way into the mineral. 3,300 men up and down the stairs. 22 stories up and 22 down.... More

We stayed at Casa Zuniga and the host, Rick, brought us here and gave us a private tour in English as part of our stay. The history of this mine, which is still being worked, goes back hundreds of years. It is fascinating, disturbing, and illuminating to hear of what the indigenous people endured as they were enslaved to work... More
