Mexico's muralists painted in gargantuan scale for public consumption, so the Hospicio's large rooms are the perfect place to display Jose Orozco's murals. Our tour guide was great and funny it was conducted in Spanish. We happened to go on a Tuesday which happened to be free, not sure if it is every Tuesday or just because it was Holy week. Artist Jose Clemente Orozco was a contempoary to Diego Rivera, but was alot more political. His work is beautiful and well worth... More

I loved the building but other than the murals in the centre, there wasn't anything much else to see and most areas were locked off. There was one room with... More

Hospicio Cabañas is a very impressive building in downtown Guadalajara, that also serves as site for temporary art exhibits. It also is the location of the famous murals by Jose Clemente Orozco, one of the great Mexican muralists of the XX century. Definetely worth visiting. Next door is one of the largest markets in Mexico (Mercado Libertad, a.k.a. San Juan... More

Due to a review I read (probably on Tripadvisor) we asked for the English tour. It was really fascinating to learn more about the murals, which are so... More
