This truly is one of the most wonderful things that I've ever done on any vacation. Mavi is SUCH an amazing person and chef. I just really can't say enough good things about her. It's rare that you find an activity while traveling that helps you transcend past being another tourists, and really makes you feel like you're no longer... More

We visited PV with our kids (9yrs and 14yrs) and were looking to spend one afternoon away from the pool and beach and get a feel for the city and maybe take home some great authentic recipes. Our visit with Mavi was a great choice! She started us off with a tour of the city via various markets located all... More

A friend and I arranged to take a class from Chef Mavi in February. We met her in the marina and went with her to all her favorite shopping markets to purchase the ingredients for our meal. That in itself was an education! The whole experience from going to the markets, observing her work her magic in the kitchen and... More

What a wonderful day and experience! We would highly recommend this to anyone who loves to enjoy great food! The "cooking class" was so much more than just watching a fabulous chef create a meal. We especially enjoyed the time at the beginning of the day when we "shopped" for the ingredients to make our meal. The "shopping" took us... More

What a great time! If you're going to PV sign up for this. My wife and I spent a lovely afternoon with Chef Mavi, going to local markets and then preparing and eating what we got. She is just a delightful person and we can't wait to come back and bring friends. Thanks for everything. More

The day began with shopping at Mavi's favorite local places, for seafood, meat, vegetables, fruit, tortillas and spices. It was a fun excursion to get all the ingredients needed for our pre-planned customized menu plus a bonus treat of shrimp tacos (because the huge shrimp looked so fresh at the market). Then on to her beautiful home, to relax and... More

We had an absolutely wonderful time with the Arte Culnario experience start to finish. After discovering this activity via Trip Advisor and reading all of the wonderful comments I felt like it was a must for our upcoming vacation. I visited the website and e-mailed to make a reservation right away (my boyfriend and I). My e-mail was answered the... More

Four of us embarked on this culinary adventure with Chef Mavi today and each of us enjoyed it thoroughly. Visiting the local fruit, fish, vegetable and tortilla shops was a fun...we knew we were in the right places when we noticed local restauranteurs shopping there as well. Chef Mavi's home is very comfortable and set up well to watch her... More

After selecting a menu ahead of time, Chef Mavi took us to various local food vendors to buy the ingredients for the meal. Conversation about the history and attributes of Mexican food and culture were expertly woven into a fascinating off-the-beaten-track shopping trip. We took the food back to Chef Mavi's home and watched her prepare the various dishes, sampling... More

As a Sommelier, I am always looking for food and wine adventures. I had read the reviews on TripAdvisor, so made the reservation via e-mail, before leaving the United States. The response was time was almost immediate, and we were set up for what would be a true culinary experience along the backstreets of Puerto Vallarta. Arte Culinario (Chef Mavi... More
