Exterior of catedral is not much to look at but the interior is very beautiful. Filled with statues of saints, the virgen, etc.

This is such a sweet example of an old Catholic Church. Very tiny and interesting and lovely decorations (and some unusal items also.) And don't forget to eat at the Italian pizza restaurant when you are there.

we spent a while at the cathedral and the zocalo. it was good to see how natives live. the cathedral has bizantine influences, with many ornaments from centro america. they have a nice virgin from Cuba. The priest there was happy to talk about the history of the church. outside, you have several stores that sell religious objects

I have always felt a calming effect when I walk into a church, no matter the Denomination. This one is sort of the exception since outside there is always activities going on and baloons for sale, and souvenirs for sale. Having said that, I love this building.

This church is beautiful and the setting is in the older part of Acapulco. There is always alot of activity in the Zocalo and you can also do some shopping and probably witness a wedding or communion going on.

it was amazing to me to see the number of people who had come to spend some time with their God. As they paused to meditate, one could not help but be drawn into the sense of oneness with the universe.

Downtown Acapulco is dirty and the city does not take care of the main plaza. The Catedral is just an old building with out any sculptures or anything wrth to visit.
